When to submit your thesis for GRS examination?
Students can submit their thesis for examination at any time during the year. However, they must provide GRS with a Notification of Intention to Submit two months before their intended submission date. The student must submit a digital copy of their thesis to the faculty for examination.
How do I submit my thesis to the University?
Once you have completed your examination and received a pass you must login to Thesis Examination System and submit your final thesis including the redacted thesis (if final is restricted) and the supporting files (if included). You must enter your ORCID. If you do not have an ORCID then create one and enter it in Thesis Examination System.
When to approach an examiner for a thesis?
Initial discussions normally take place at the student’s final milestone review and it is recommended that examiners are approached at least 4-6 weeks before expected submission. An email template is available for use when inviting potential examiners to examine a thesis.
How long does it take for a thesis to be submitted?
The entire examination process normally takes four to six months, however it can take longer. Examiners are asked to provide a written report and a recommendation for the thesis within 6-8 weeks of them having received it. Communication with the examiners by the students or supervisors is strictly prohibited.
